The Desiree is a red-skinned main crop potato originally bred in the Netherlands in 1962. It has yellow flesh with a distinctive flavour and is a favourite with allotment-holders because of its resistance to drought, although it is not well suited to organic growing. It is a versatile, fairly waxy variety which is firm and holds its shape and useful for all methods of cooking; from roasting to mashing and salads. source: wikipedia

Here is my first entry on Weekend Snapshot.

Last weekend my friend called me up and informing to drop by at my place since she was at the nearby town. The moment I put down the phone I went to the supermarket to buy ready made fruit cake for our tee time. We had a great afternoon together talking about work, friends and family over a cup of tee and slice of this fruit cake.

The garden cress

Garden cress can be bought here in the market as a box of young live shoots. I use it in sandwiches as a combination for egg mayonaise spread, for salad or in pizza. This is culitivated through hydroponic which is a method of growing plants using mineral nutrient solutions, without soil. To make it last longer I put water in it and place it in the refrigirator.
