Settling Down

My mom was checking the delivery for Kohler kitchen faucet at my dad’s hardware store, when my brother arrived with her fiancée. They are on their third month of their wedding preparations. We are excited to see my brother settling down. He had been too busy with his career that he was ignoring his personal life. But now, we are thankful that he realized he needs to build a family of his own. He is getting married two months from now.

Lucky me

Do you believe in lucky days? Well, I think I experienced one the other day.

The sun was still rising when I woke up. The smell of the flowers of the fortune tree came all over my place, after opening the windows. I though I was out of stock of my morning coffee when I saw some new groceries near the cupboards. My mom must have brought them when she came the other day. I also found some eggs, which I cooked for breakfast.

But before eating, I went for a fifteen minute stretching and another fifteen minute jogging. Then had my breakfast plus coffee and I was ready to take a bath. The water’s temperature was just right and I needed to stop myself from preparing a bubble bath because I only had forty five minutes to prepare for work. At around seven thirty, I was waiting for a ride.

Let me count the other lucky things I encountered that day. The taxi driver, who I thought in a good mood, gave a discount with my fare. My boss was on leave. My lunch was free because my officemate, who was celebrating her birthday, treated us for lunch. Then that night I won a consolation price at a fastfood promo! Am I just lucky or what?

Maritime Accident
